Accessibility

The aim

My Private Arc should be usable by everyone, with a keyboard, with a screen reader, and with the settings you have chosen on your device.

This describes how we work, not a claim that everything is faultless. Shortcomings are verified and fixed as they are found.

The standard

WCAG 2.1 level AA is the project’s minimum requirement and accessibility target. This includes sign-in, administration and help. This text does not establish that every requirement is met on every page or device.

Keyboard and focus

The interface supports keyboard navigation, visible focus and a link at the top to skip to main content. Use Tab and Shift+Tab to move focus and Enter or Space to activate relevant controls.

Help and dialogs should be usable with a keyboard. If focus disappears, a control cannot be reached or you become trapped in a dialog, report the page and action involved.

Screen readers

Pages are built with headings, lists and labels for form fields. Icons and images should have text alternatives where they convey information. Status and error messages should be understandable without relying on colour alone.

Support may vary between browsers and assistive technologies. Full conformance testing for every screen reader, browser and device combination has not been documented.

Motion

The interface takes account of your device’s reduced-motion preference by reducing transitions and animations. Report movement that makes reading or use difficult, including the page and device involved.

Colour and mode

Choose light or dark mode, or let the theme follow your device in settings. Text, controls and focus should have sufficient contrast in both themes.

Colour should not be the only way important information is conveyed. Report text, buttons or status indicators that are difficult to distinguish.

Known limits

Create archive items with or without photos. Use the camera or choose images from your device. Camera access, file selection, encryption and report viewing may behave differently in a browser and installed app.

Local analysis and encryption may take longer on older devices. AI may give incomplete or incorrect suggestions; review the result and use manual entry when needed. Optional cloud analysis sends selected images after separate consent.

Physical iPhone/PWA use and report viewing require separate checks; a mobile-sized browser viewport is not full verification of these features.

Report accessibility issues to privat@lexico.no. Include the page, what you tried to do, browser and device, and any assistive technology. Do not send passwords, archive passphrases or private archive images. Describe a solution that would help you if possible.
